CHRIS BERNARD – Photographer / Videographer / Drone Pilot
I bought my first camera in 2007. Through trial and error I started selling my images through stock photography while working as a Paramedic in Edmonton, Alberta. I loved the work and quickly saw the potential and opportunity that could be reached, after earning a diploma, I began developing my technique and business plan to evolve into a start up photography company. I then left my 13-year paramedic job in 2012 and began expanding our company beyond what stock photography had to offer. I look forward to what Commercial Photography and Video Production brings. It’s challenging and always different but it’s rewarding to see projects come together. That’s what it’s all about. Creating, Delivering, and making a living doing it.
This work is much bigger than just taking pictures. I’m often approached by students and other people who ask me what’s involved and how I’ve learned. I try to make people understand that pushing the button probably accounts for 5% of what I do. I’m also my own I.T support, Marketing Agent, Web Designer, Computer Technician, Editor, and general problem solver. I’m married to my Mac Book Pro and it goes with me literally everywhere. The truth is that Commercial work in particular is almost never glamorous. It’s messy, muddy, cold as shit, hot as hell, windy, stressful, and hectic. The end result is always worth it and fulfilling. I never stop learning and growing. This is what I’m drawn to.
In my spare time, I love to run with our Great Dane, go to the movies, listen to music, hit the gym when I can and spend time with my family. I’m so grateful that I can be creative and see the world around me in a very different light than most people allow themselves to.
KIMBER LE – Creative Director / Assistant / Drone Crew
I help Chris on almost every shoot. We really work well as a team.
I’m tiny standing at 4’11” so be exact, so you might find me tip toeing around you while at work 🙂 I’m was pretty shy and quiet. This job really helps me get out of my shell so I’m pretty thankful for it. I have two beautiful mixed kids who are Caucasian / Vietnamese. Being a former florist, I love gardening/ home decor… and especially dogs. I never was a dog person before I met Chris, I was actually scared shitless of them. lol Now I want a farm full of them!
This really is the best job in the world. It can be hard work at times but it’s so rewarding.
